Redefining ambient air monitoring with multi-QCL technology

MIRO Analytical, now part of Bruker Optics, is redefining ambient air monitoring with the MGA10; a compact, high-precision gas analyser that integrates up to five Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) to simultaneously measure up to ten greenhouse gases and air pollutants. This next-generation instrument leverages the strong mid-infrared absorption of target gases to achieve parts-per-trillion sensitivity.

Unlike traditional systems that require multiple instruments and technologies to measure key ambient air gases, the MGA10 consolidates this capability into a single unit. This all-in-one design not only reduces system integration complexity and cost but also enhances deployment flexibility; from mobile air quality networks to airborne environmental research.

The MGA10’s precision, speed, and compactness make it ideal for a wide range of applications, including atmospheric chemistry, urban eddy covariance, and airborne molecular contamination monitoring. With minimal maintenance and no need for gas conversion, it empowers scientists, regulators, and industry professionals to make faster, more informed decisions in addressing air pollution and climate change.

For example, the MGA10 is used by American and European aerospace agencies to measure, in the troposphere, gases such as N₂O, CH₄, CO, CO₂, NOₓ, SO₂, O₃, NH₃, OCS, H₂O, and much more.

At CEM 2025, MIRO Analytical proudly presents the MGA10 as a transformative tool for the future of environmental monitoring.
